In order to perform the complete system deinstallation, it is necessary to take the following steps:
- open the folder into which the system is installed (by default C:\Program Files\VIT\...), and run unins000.exe;
- delete folders with VIT and VITCompany system components with all their contents:
- these folders are located in C:/Program Files/. Sometimes one or both folders can be absent. In this case all folders containing VIT name should be found and deleted. To delete the folder with its entire content user should select it and click Shift+Delete.
- delete folder with VIT configuration files and all its contents:
- this folder is located in section ...Application Data. Folder Application Data is hidden. In case if it is not displayed, user should turn on “Display hidden files and folders” option.
- open folder into which PostgreSQL is installed (usually C:\postgres), and run uninstall-postgresql.ехе:
- file uninstall-postgresql.exe can fail to exist. In this case, proceed to the next step.
- delete postgres folder with all its contents:
- to delete the folder with its entire content select it and click Shift+Delete.
- to delete the folder with its entire content select it and click Shift+Delete.
- go to command line: Start-Run. In an appeared window paste cmd, click “OK”, type there user postgres/delete and click «Enter».
- clean registry:
- proceed to command line: Start-Run. In an appeared window paste regedit command and click “OK”. The following divisions should be deleted in registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...\PostgreSQL and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...\PostgreSQL Global Development Group. These divisions can be absent or have other names. To guarantee registry cleaning all divisions, containing PostgreSQL in their names, should be deleted.
- restart computer.
Please, note, that partial deinstallation, like BD (PostgreSQL) deinstallation can lead to system availability abortion.
